Marketing Consistency



Over the last 30 years I have consulted with hundreds of business owners about their marketing efforts and the number one complaint that I hear over and over is the inconsistency of business. Those proverbial ups and downs; one month you have too many customers and the next month not enough.

Most business owners, especially small business owners, wear more than one hat at a time, and there in is the problem. For example, a house painter advertises like crazy to find the next job to do, once found, the advertising stops and the painter paints. When the job is done, the painter scrambles to find the next job which usually takes a bit of time so the cash flow stops.

Your business marketing efforts need to remain consistent if you would like to have business happening all the time. When you stop marketing there will be repercussions a short period later where no customers will be actively pursuing your product or service.

The bottom line is simple: If you want consumers knocking at your door every single day, you have to pro-actively market your business every single day. In order to do that you need to create a sales strategy that functions even if you are not at the wheel.

No matter how you prospect for leads, it must occur on a consistent basis. If you use telemarketing, for example, then each day there must be a certain amount of time set aside for making phone calls. The same is true for cold calling, email marketing, print media advertising, social marketing, etc,
